Microsoft Access databases are small databases that may be acceptable for personal or simple applications, but are not recommended for large businesses that store enormous amounts of information or require alot of simultaneous requests for the database. Microsoft Access must be stored on a Windows server. For personal or offline access to the database, your computer must have Personal Web Server. If you have an existing Microsoft Access database that you are outgrowing, it is possible to transfer your data to a larger database. We can create a larger database and transfer the data for you. If you plan to create a new database, we recommend MySQL or Oracle, though there are others. It is possible to have a Windows hosted database that is accessed by a non-Windows hosted website. You may require both Unix and Windows servers to enjoy the benefits of PHP on Unix hosting as well as Windows-only databases. With both servers, you may also enjoy the benefits of ASP scripting and communicate with a MySQL database that is for Unix servers.
